Magicians
Street Magic
In 1989 four boys and four girls from the "Palace of Youth and Children's Creativity", in the Russian city of Voronezh, started a 'pop' music group called "Street Magic". It wasn't long before the kids were participants in Russia's most popular children's TV shows with their first hit song, "Ivan Kupala", and soon after they were frequent guests on Russian television on shows like "Cinderella's Ball", "440 Hz", "Marathon-15", "Musical Frigate", etc. The next step for this young group was to conquer the rest of the world and that came quickly through international competitions.
2005 was for "Street Magic" a year of victories. In August, Vlad Krutskih was a participant of the "World Championships of Performing Arts" in Hollywood, California, under patronage of President George Bush and the governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Performing the songs "Ivan Kupala" and "Aria of Troubadour" brought Vlad two gold medals in the category of "Voice of the World" and "Broadway Music".
"Street Magic" became the first group from Russia invited to the "Eurovision Junior Song Contest" in Hasselt, Belgium. Vlad Krutskikh won a top-ten spot, thereby ensuring his participation in the best musical show of Europe in 2006.
The young "magicians" have repeatedly surprised the public with victories at additional competitions around the world and participation in European TV shows, singing in six languages. In 2007, Street Magic were honored as Best International Children's Music Group of the year, at the "Young Artist Awards" at Universal Studios. Now, with their own school in Voronezh, Street Magic continues to record and astound audiences worldwide.
